Detoxification & Withdraw Management
Fear of withdrawal keeps many people locked in the vicious cycle of active substance use. Many people want to stop using, but simply don’t know how to deal with the physical withdrawal caused by drugs like heroin, prescription painkillers, benzos, and alcohol. Our comprehensive detoxification process provides patients with the environment of care needed to successfully transition from withdrawal to stabilization and holistic well-being.
Intake –during the intake process our patients will be assessed by our clinical staff to determine the level of care needed for the patient to become successful in their treatment process.
Medical Team – once a patient has completed the intake process a medical assessment will be conducted by our highly skilled licensed medical team. During this assessment a comprehensive treatment plan will be developed to address the withdrawal symptoms.
We use an evidence based and medically monitored medication taper to detox our patients in comfort.
All of our programs are staffed around the clock by licensed medical and clinical staff.
Clinical Team –our patients connect with their primary counselor while in detox. After the patient is assessed by our medical team, the primary counselor will meet with the patient for a program orientation session. With the patient’s permission, the primary counselor will then reach out to the family for introduction along with discussing upcoming counseling sessions.
Transition to Comprehensive Counseling – once the medical team determines the patient is stable, the detoxification process will be complete. The patient will then transfer into our short term program and continue their work towards holistic lifestyle change.
Why Pennsylvania Adult & Teen Challenge?
Pennsylvania Adult & Teen Challenge (PATC) specializes in support for those recovering from substance use issues. We specialize in treating those suffering from addiction to opioids (i.e. heroin & prescription medication), alcohol, benzodiazepines, and other addictive substances. PATC combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help end the addictive cycle. Physical support includes medical detox and subsequent medical intervention (including medication), and mental health support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction. Our therapy utilizes the most current evidence based practices such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. As a patient you will find PATC to be a place of healing and renewal.
